VISTA "Limited Connectivity" for 10-20 minutes from start up

Every time I reboot my system,it can not connect to my dsl modem(via nic card)
It shows "limited connectivity" icon. It usually dissapears by itself and lets me connect,in about 10-20 minutes.

Any ideas?

Most likely this is a router problem, you need firmware to support tcp window scaling.

Which network chip does that asrock mobo support? I had this exact same issue with an asrock 939dual. It uses an uli chipset. I pestered the guys at nvidia about it and they emailed me an updated driver a few weeks back which finally resolved it. Unfortunately they havent posted that driver to their site for some reason.

Also, if when vista boots, if you wait 2-5 minutes before logging in, the network will usually work. Or at least thats how i avoided the problem until i got the updated drivers. So try waiting a minute or two or five when you get the login prompt and see if that works. If that mobo uses the uli chipset, i can email you the driver nvidia sent me if you want it.

I got the latest Firmware for the Router...

The Asrock board is a ULI chip, so yes indeed...

I will try these when I get home, and report back thank you

beta vista drivers for LAN:version 352 1/10/2007(make sure you choose the vista drivers not the XP ones.)

ah cool....they should post that download link on the 939sata board as well since it seems they use the same chipset. I've been looking on the nvidia site, didnt think to look on the asrock site to see if they posted the updated drivers. Those are probably the same drivers nvidia sent me since they emailed them to me on the 4th of jan and the zip is called UliLan352

Radicaldreamer....out friggin standing. The driver link you posted worked like a charm with my Asrock 939 dual board. I had the limited connectivity problem in the Vista beta's and most recently with Vista Ultimate. I put an older PCI ethernet card in to get around it. This has always bugged me because I like to have my system optimized.....Thanks again.

a bit late reply, but I figured it out by myself. It was because of my choice of network. For some reason it was connecting to Private Network(that's how it was calling itself),I change the settings to Public Networks and don't have a problem anymore
