Vista Help Please!!

I have vista ultimate 32 installed everything has drivers all that stuff. When ever I go to open up network and sharing it freezes not the entire computer just that whats wrong and how do I fix it. I have alot of files that I need to have access to please and thank you. Its a wired connection.
 
As a first step, disable your onboard NIC in the motherboard's BIOS, then boot up with the NIC disabled, then restart the system, enable the NIC, and see if it gets discovered. nForce4 or nForce4 Ultra chipset, by any chance?
