Games don't really benefit from 512MB VRAM, so this is a useless feature for now but might be handy in the future. If you have a graphics card with 256MB or more then system memory is more important (especially in games like Battlefield 2 which require about 1.5MB system memory for high textures.)
As for the topic, though; Since when was Turbocache/Hypermemory "cool"? This is basically exactly that.
