vista freezes like a mofo

so I got vista business from gatech.. and it works great on my laptop.. but my pc constantly freezes and bluescreens w/ it. I can only think it doesn't like my hardware. It froze right after a clean install.. which def is not normal.. so I figure there's a hardware incompat

audigy 2 zs plat
biostar 6100 micro version
a64 x2 3800

I know about the sound driver issues that vista is having w/ creative and other companies.. but i heard some ppl say that taking out their creative sound card didnt' help w/ freezing. anybody knw of other reasons?
 
Did this PC work perfectly fine with XP?

BSODs have, in my experience, have mostly been about RAM. Did you try running Memtest86 or Orthos (Blend)?
Try it without the sound card too if Creative's drivers are still stuck in Beta-hell.
 
yes.. i've been usin xp on this system for two semesters now w/ no problems. basically installed a dual boot vista as soon as I got it from our msdna site.. and just keeps freezing I'm sure my hd, ram, video card are in perfect working order (for xp)
