Voice recognition sucks. It will be a VERY long time before there is good software out.

WTF. I have to use IE6 + Media Player 10 + Flash. I can bypass IE6 requirement and have Flash, but not going to install MP10.

dig up? start > run > iexplore > OK is too hard for you?
You have been hearing wrong. Voice recognition requires a minimum of 3 GHz processor power. And not 3 GHz of the inflated P4 speed, but real 3 GHz like the previous P3 or current AMD speed. We simply didn't have the speed we needed 10 years ago. Heck, we really just barely have it now.Originally posted by: Phoenix86
I have been hearing that for like 10 years now.
It plays just fine for me.Originally posted by: chuckywang
Anybody got a mirror? It says the requested video is not available.
Then how come my phone can recognize any of my contacts' names, the names of music artists, file names and application names with absolutely no training on a 200MHz processor?Originally posted by: dullard

Your edit answered the question. Simple stuff can be done and has been done for years. Anything realistic like dictation with different accents or different pronunciations from the same person craps out.Originally posted by: loup garou

Obviously, it's not taking dictation like true voice recognition software will, but it's pretty impressive what it can recognize.
