I am giving up on my Vista x64 and my Live! Card.

I got the drivers to install with "SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004" even though i get no errors i have no sound output.. nothing 🙁

i was trying to force some other newer x64 drivers and now i got a BSOD so not sure if i going to try to fix this or try the 32-bit version...

I really hope the retail x64 isn't this bad. I really would like to use my 64-bit machine in its all glory lol

This has nothing to do with the OS. It has only to do with the drivers from the manufacturer. If Creative does not issue a compatible driver, the cards will not work and Microsoft is not going to do anything about it.

Yeah i know it isn't MS's fault.. i meant that i hope the Driver issues isn't as bad for the retail.. sorry for my bad choice of words 🙂

Well i finally got it to work!! YeePee

This is the Live! 5.1

I installed the WinXP 32-bit driver lol.

Steps:
1) Unpack drivers
2)go into ..\LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG)\Audio\Drivers
3) double click to run CRZAPXX.exe
4) Click driver install, OK
5) If msgbox appears about you system has more recent drivers ... are you sure. Click yes
6) Reboot machine
7) Wow it works 🙂, i do get a help file error but that is nothing lol

lol, finally!

check audio devices>> play control >> speaker configuration to make sure whatever mode you use is fully supported

some users are reporting only stereo mode, others get only front/rear but no bass

I got the whole works going, 7.1 works like a charm😀

I reverted back to onboard sound for now. Unless anyone else has any tricks for getting an Audigy 2 on X64 to work...

I tried the trick to install twice. Heck, 3 and 4 times, but still no sound.

I had to disable the signed driver check (can either do it at each boot, or at a command line with a command I can't quite remember at the moment..). This was with the horribly outdated 8-month-old Vista Beta drivers on Creative's site. As far as I can tell though, it's just stereo sound, so you'd probably be better off trying to use the XP x64 drivers...
