Hi ... I somehow managed to screw up my vista boot by trying to remove my xp install.
Story:
I had a dual boot of XP and Vista 64-bit where XP was the main OS.
I eventually migrated all my stuff to vista and using vista I changed my computer to no longer offer vista and XP while booting but just to boot straight to vista. (That worked fine).
After a sometime, I decided it was time to remove xp from my machine.
So when I tried to format from vista, the xp partition was the system partition so I could not just wipe out from vista.
Then I booted from the vista CD and went into the command line...used bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /rebuildbcd. To be able to change the vista partition to be the system partition.
After that somehow my Vista partition is drive F and Drive C became corrupted, which is where XP lived in, I reformatted C since it was corrupt and Now I cannot boot into vista.
It says the bootmanager is missing.
My guess is that it tries to go into Drive C but since the parition is F it wont boot but I am not sure.
Can anyone shine some light here? Is there a way to change the drive letter from the command prompt?
Thanks
