vista beta question

which do i want? will the 64bit version cause me to have same compatibility issues like win xp pro 64 would?

Probably more since Vista is an even newer OS than XP64 with even less driver support. 😛

Then again, 32 bit will probably have a good deal of driver issues as well, although I gather from all the Vista threads that its built in driver support is pretty good.

I went 64, and the only issues I have are my printer and creative sound card. HP flat out says they will not make 64 bit drivers for a printer as old as mine, and creative is just slow.

Yes 64bit; if you run into issues (drivers or otherwise) please be sure to bug them.

And if you really want to have fun with it do both, dual boot the 64bit and 32bit builds!

as it turns out, i can only use 64 if i have windows xp 64 installed??? whenever i try running vista 64, it says that vista isn't an x86 file or something.

Are you trying to do an upgrade install or booting from the DVD?

I dont think you can do an upgrade install (an install that runs from within XP) unless you're upgrading from XP 64 bit.

No, you could dual-boot.

Apparently MS hasn't written a 32 bit installer for the 64 bit vista yet. Just create a DVD and boot to that.

tried.... it says some bs about the disk not having the windows disk image. i dunno wtf is going on.
