Vista 64bit?

Isn't this a result of maintaining backward compatibility with older 32-bit software? For any software that is 64-bit (and if you bother to use a 64-bit OS you might as well stick with 64-bit software) then this isn't really a problem.

Of course not, but on a system dominated by closed software, like Windows, there's pretty much no option but to run 32-bit software.

So you really do think we should run 2-bit systems, and perhaps reduce CPU core instruction sets to...say 10?

Sure, everyone else should, but I'm happy with my 64-bit system.
 
im currently awaiting my 64bit vista ultimate sytem builders edition(got it for $199)...also waiting on my new e6700, 2gb ram, and so on

coming from a p4 2.6 this baby should go vrooooom!
 
Where did you find the 64-bit version of Ultimate edition for $200? It was like $600 for the OEM version of 64-bit vista ultimate on Newegg.
