BitDefender doesn't support Vista64. It's probably misbehaving. In general most of your memory should be used in Vista.

I Had a window pop up saying I dont have enough memory? what? not enough,

I here so many people say go vista 64 bit, but there are so many issues with most programs being 32 bit, bit defender, diskkeeper, quickbooks, etc
I starting to think 32bit only recognizing 3 gigs ram is much faster then 64bit, recognizing 6 gigs.

isn't the memory use normal for Vista as it uses it for disk cache or something like that

It's normal when it's normal :^P

Vista will use all your memory for caching, but in the OP's case, BitDefender's using too much ram.

Turn all the vista crap off and see if it runs better.

DO NOT DO THIS! It will only make things worse. Vista is not XP where you can just go turn off all the services. There are really only just a few things you can safely disable. For example, Tablet PC support if you do not use a Tablet PC.

Like everyone else said, uninstall Bit Defender. Don't blame Vista for lazy 3rd party developers. Pretty much all other security software has been working on Vista x64 for a long time now.

Edit: Actually, get rid of all the crap that YOU put on there. You do not need Diskeeper. Complete waste on Vista. Did you even buy it or are you pirating the software? That could also be causing your problems.
I can't see everything else that you have running but get rid of all the crap you installed on there (except for Firefox and necessary drivers, obviously). It shouldn't be that hard for you to figure out on your own. If software X is causing problems, remove software X. Duh.

Is your page file still enabled? Lots of software out there cause problems with the vista pagefile completely disabled me personally when using high amounts of ram like that I still keep a pagefile on to avoid memory low errors and general software related issues.
