Here are some specific suggestions:

Tower of London: best part is the guys giving the tours dressed up like a bunch of ponces are all HIGHLY decorated veterans

Any of the museums - so many to choose from. The war museums are facinating. You can go to Trafalgar Sq, feed the pigeons and then go to any of the several museums right there.

Depending on the exact date, try and go to a soccer, rugby or cricket match
London based Premier League Teams: Chelsea, Fulham, Arsenal, Tottenham, & West Ham

The Underground - The London subway system is great and gets you anywhere in the city.

Get a curry: Indian food is more popular in England than English food

bottom line: do your research, there is plenty to do
