VisionTek Xtasy 6564 - RAM Timings??

Hey everyone,

Well I'm going to be picking up one of the above mentioned cards.. however I've been reading up and I've seen a vast variety of RAM timings for RAM. I've heard some people mentioned it cames with 3.8ns, in AT's Roundup it says 4ns, and other no-name reviews say 5.0ns

Is anyone certain of the speed? (Important, because I WILL be OC'ing)

What speeds does the Reference Ti200 call for?

Any particular reason you decided on the Visiontek. PNY has a Ti200 that uses 4ns RAM. I overclock to 500Mhz no problem. Visiontek problably uses a mixture of speeds depending on whether the card is retail or OEM. Wish I could help you on that one.

Default memory clock is 400. Mine goes to 520.
Make a search, there were some threads on a subject
and most ppl were able to hit 500 at least.

Core goes to 220-230 (default 175). I replaced HSF
but 225 is the best it can do without artifacts.

With the Visiontek cards it depends on what release you have. The 4401 and 4501 releases had faster 3.8ns RAM on them. To check which version you have you'd have to buy the card and check the back of it, below the SN# on the sticker with the UPC code bars on it is the release version. 4301 or lower and you have 5ns RAM.

what are the side effects of over clocking? will it burn out my card if i put my gf3 ti200 mhz to 200/450??

you'll get artifacts when you start pushing your card too hard...if you set it too high sometimes your 3d apps won't even work at all...e.g 3dmark will lock up or reboot your computer

you'll hit one of these problems before you'd actually be able to burn up your video card

I have a week 51 of 2001 that does not overclock well at all. It seems to max out around 220 core 440 memory. This is the second Visiontek I have had that was a mediocre overclocker.

200/450 is fairly conservative. I havent heard of many
not being able to hit those speeds.

You have to go way higher to have a chance to gamage your videocard.
Even then you will have warning signs like artifacts and freezing.

I'm going with the VisionTek because it is on sale up here in the great white north $200 at FutureShop, which is a steal for a GF3 up here.. That's why I was wondering... Alrite, thanks for your help everyone.

I just brought Visiontek gf3 Ti200 and was able to OC 220x500 with stock fan without any problem so far. BTW my is 4801.
