Anyone remember this? I have a small sauce pan and a lid to a skillet that i broke years ago that is still used almost every day on my cast iron skillet.

I've been thinking of getting some more but it appears that it's hard to get now a days and the only places that I can find it is online and ebay.

I was just wondering if there's a reason why it disappeared from stores.

whoa... blast from the past...
Dunno why you cannot find them in any stores, but I have not seen those in years, although my mom still has some.

Is there a reason why you like it so much?

My guess is that the color and fad left a while ago.

my son was boiling water and boiled it dry and after a simple cleaning, there was no residue, unlike the teflon coated pan that he did the same to. These thing can take a lot of heat without damage.

My mother in law has an entire set of these. She still uses them but they are scratched to hell.

Do you have an outlet mall nearby? Go to the Corningware/Corelle store there and you can get those.

I'm about an hour from Corning, I've gone to the Corning outlet in Corning many times & have seen them there. (We stop at the outlet about once a year to replace any dishes that have been broken; slowly our collection is growing into more sizes & shapes that we can't believe we used to live without.) They always have a lot of visions cookware there.

That is interesting... Surely you can't do that with regular pyrex, right? I thought it had major heat stress issues (ie setting something from the oven on a wet cloth).

The pots/pans sucked. Completely terrible to cook with. Now the Corning casserole and baking dishes rock however.

Because they stunk. The stuff was definitely a case of style over substance.

that's bad...the excessive scrathing is what weakens the glass. Honestly, you should google it and point it out to her....there could be a serious injury if the cookware explodes.

I have a set that I bought a long time ago. I've always heard they suck but I guess I don't cook enough to know.

I think one of the biggest reasons was that it just didn't perform well. For example, you can't turn your stove on to high without destroying your Visions cookware. It really sucks waiting nearly twice as long for a pot to boil on setting 6 when anything metal can go up to 10. If you did go up to high power, your Visions cookware would be destroyed.

Plus, it only looks good for a little bit. Then you have scratches and permanently baked on food that eventually look like your great cooking went through a war zone.

we had some but everything burned to the bottom of the sauce pans. Then the little black flakes what show up in everything you ate.
