vision Tek 64 meg USb 2.0 Flash drive 9.99 after rebates free shipping

Great deal if you are willing to deal with TCA rebates. They are the worst out there, IMHO. Be sure to document and make copies of everything.

And he is NOT kidding!!!

You know, TCA is the only rebate processing center from which I've gotten every rebate I've submitted. I know that's by for the exception, but they've been great for me.

I've had to call about 90% of the rebates I send there. I get a ton of lame-ass excuses, requests to resubmit and consistently late checks, some took nearly a year to get back.:disgust:

parago (rebatehq) is also one of my favs. i've gotten ALL of my staples rebates thro them.

also i think the rebate is due within 2 weeks. 2 weeks is not enough for amazon to ship your stuff and add anand FW effects and various forums then you'll probably get the drive in 2,3 weeks at least

TCA rebates are notorious for following reasons: All rebates have a strict deadline, something impossible to meet. Hence they can reject easily.
No one picks their phones, even if you try calling them. Also emails are not responded to. So you are pretty much better not contacting them.

I think only rip-off mechants go to them to make attractive deals according to them(vendors) but not according to us (customers).

I stick to vendors like Staples, Bestbuy or Circuitcity who do not deal with these crooks (TCA). Also one sure way is to check the rebate form before buying.
If it is TCA then better forget it.

Maybe some people are lucky with them......good for you.

On a positive note, my BBB complaint made TCA (and CrapUSA) roll over like a whipped dog. Might be worth it if you don't mind the effort.

Got my drive half an hour ago. Tested it by writing a 39 MB file to the drive from my USB 2.0 card and it took around 20 seconds. Then I tested it by writing from the native USB 1.0 port of my PC, it also took around 20 seconds... I couldn't see any advantage of the drive's claimed USB 2.0 speed ... Anyone has any ideas?

By the way, the reading is fast: around 7 seconds to read the same file back to my PC, no matter using either USB 2.0 or 1.0 port.
