Visa or MasterCard?

Im getting a debit card for use while I'm in Scotland. Do you suggest Visa or MasterCard? I'll be using back in the States afterwards, as well.

I use my paypal debit card for random purchases...it pays 1.5% cash back!

i think MC is accepted in slightly more places. but they're both run by the same banks.

I cant find anything that says Paypal wont pay you cashback on foreign purchases

for everything else there's mastercard

I work in tourism. Every european clients we have pay with Visa. But if I'm correct, whenever Visa is accepted, MC also is, and vice versa

VISA > MasterCard > Amex > Discover

Me too. Never had any problems with either one, although I mainly use them to order items off the Internet.

Why not get a credit card, where you're protected against fraud?

Visa is accepted more then MasterCard in all the European countries including Ireland/Scotland ...
This is a statement from personal experience but I think U will be fine with either card. My personal preference is VISA
