Visa or MasterCard?

Im getting a debit card for use while I'm in Scotland. Do you suggest Visa or MasterCard? I'll be using back in the States afterwards, as well.

I work in tourism. Every european clients we have pay with Visa. But if I'm correct, whenever Visa is accepted, MC also is, and vice versa

Visa is accepted more then MasterCard in all the European countries including Ireland/Scotland ...
This is a statement from personal experience but I think U will be fine with either card. My personal preference is VISA
