hmm my friends computer got a virus in the mbr so she can't boot her system anymore. i was thinking about running fdisk /mbr command on it but i was worried that i could screw up the file root structure.. i was wondering whats the consequence of fdisk /mbr, and also if i run that command will windows show up automatically or do i have to install something, and if so how do i do it???

Thanx

I've run fdisk /mbr several times ti fix a problem such as you describe. Don't worry about it. The machine will boot from the last good mbr. Just boot to a command prompt (use boot disc) and type it in and press enter. You will get no confirmation that it has done anything. Just reboot your machine and do a full antivirus scan.
