The other day I guess i downloaded some bad stuff off Kazaa. I was wondering why after my downloads finished, they all would say failed but I would go to My Shared Folder and they were there plus they worked. Then I checked my hdd space cuz I was suppose to have about 2gigs and i know i didnt d/l that much stuff. It was really low ,like half a gig or less. Then I go back and look again....it would be higher than it was. It was all lowering and rising eevrytime I go to look at it.
I scanned with Norton 2000 that my friend gave me which its LiveUpdate just expired like the day b4. It said i had Js.Seeker virus. It wouldnt repair it,so it quarantined it. Then I went to Symantecs site to see what to do. Deleting it was part of it but the rest of the instructions didnt pertain to me. I couldnt find the keys it was suppose to put in the registry either.
I scanned a few more times and it found nothing. My friend suggested I try Trend Micros online scanner Housecall. It found a different virus called Js_Gigger.A. This thing would tell me i had it right off the bat....b4 it even really started. (I think it found the Seeker too..i forget though) I let it finish and it said I must restart my pc to finish cleaning. I did, then I scanned again and it said i still had it This was weird cuz sometimes it would say i didnt have it then a few more tries and it would say i had it again. So I go back to Symantecs site and follow the manual instructions there and couldnt find the reg keys for Gigger either. Oh and I went back and tried Norton sometime in between finding/not finding Gigger with Housecall...it never found it and my definitions werent that old.
I went and got AVG the free virus scanner and used it once....it didnt find nothing.
So what do you think is up? Do you think it just took them a bunch of tries to finally get rid of them both or what? Were the viruses not fully activated or sumthin is that why I couldnt find the reg entries? Why would Housecall say I was clean and then the next try it said I still had Gigger? That doesnt give me much faith in these things Is Benjamin picked up by scanners too? Sorry for the long boring post. I'm gonna scan with all 3 one more time each.....see what happens. Thats 30minutes a piece, sheesh.
