"..., the virus initially poses as an attachment--AnnaKournikova.jpg.vbs--included in a message with one of three similar subject lines: 'Here you are ;-),' 'here you have ;o)' and 'here you go ;-).'"

No kidding. We got it here pretty quickly and our email has been down ever since. The first guy that opened it is feeling pretty sheepish right now. I think we'll get him a poster of Anna.

What's funnier is that he's a freaking PROGRAMMER! Do NOT open VBS files if you don't know what they are. Even if they promise to be jpgs of hot tennis chicks.

I know this'll probably get locked, but as I sit here the companys email server is down because of this virus, I have to laugh (at least a little bit).

Only one person at my workplace received this, as far as I know. He called me (I'm the PC support guy) before launching the attachment. We use Lotus Notes for email, so the damage will be minimal when/if someone here is dumb enough to launch an unknown attachment (will not grab the address book, at least).

A bunch of our vendors got hit with it and the flood from them is hammering our servers.

I know what some of you are going through. We got hit with Love Bug several months ago and I was up for almost 24 hours trying to clean up the mess off 8,000+ mailboxes....Sheesh...

Yeah, we got hit with it too. Everyone got a letter from our CEO saying check out this pic of Anna Kournikova. Hes opened vbs viruses before, so everyone knew what was up.

people should just block .vbs at the server. if these people are writing vbs scripts, i'm sure they know what winzip is.
and on a side note, anna kournikova is way hot :D

Why don't you guys save yourself the trouble and disable Windows script hosting on everyone's workstation? Of course, this only apply to those workstation that will never ever use it. If they ever need it, I think they are smart enough to figure out not to open an unknown .vbs file. But for sales/secretaries workstations.. just disable the damn thing and you will never have to clean up their mess again. My .02
