VirtualDub as a VCR?

I've got a WinTV hauppauge card and Vdub. In Vdub, when I choose "Capture AVI", it opens my WinTV picture and plays the tv along with sound. The problem is that although I can see the video and hear the sound, when I hit F6 (Capture Video) only the Video gets saved with no sound. Anyone ever try this or have any suggestions to get the sound too?

Capture Menu > Settings > make sure "capture audio" is checked

Yeah it is, still no audio. 🙁

Make sure the correct source is selected in the volume control. It might be set to the mic.

There is sound but I didn't notice it because its about 10% the level before recording, but if I crank my output I can hear it. Thanks for the replies.
