I've been capturing Babylon5 on Sci-Fi, and I've been having problems with the audio sync. I capture video with low-motion DivX at 6 mbit/sec, and PCM audio at 22 kHz/16-bit/stereo (real-time MP3 compression crashes VirtualDub for some reason). After this, I do one of the following:
- For a normal episode, I cut out the commercials, and compress the video with low-motion DivX at ~294 kbit/sec, and compress the audio with MP3 compression at 40 kbit/sec. The audio at the beginning of the episode is fine, but if I try to jump to a point in the end of the movie, the audio will be up to a 1/4 of a second behind the video. If I watch the movie file straight through, the dubbing problems aren't as pronounced, but still evident.
- For the B5 movies, I cut out the commercials. I keep the DivX compression at 6 mbit/sec, and use 60 kbit/sec MP3 audio. There are no audio sync problems whatsoever.
Does anybody know how to correct the problems with the audio?
