Virtual Private Networking???

I'd like to know more about this too.. If anybody has some good websites that tell you more about how to set VPN servers and clients up specifically for a Win 2000 environment, please post. Thanks!

There are many flavors and means to do "virtual private networking"

What exactly are you trying to accomplsh? LAN-2-LAN vpn, remote access VPN, service provider VPN? If it is a single computer accessing another single computer then just load MS vpn service and specify the end points of the tunnel and you'll be fine.

The VPNs that spidey07 was talking about all have to do with remote access. What is it that you would like to do with your remote access? Go from home to work? work to home? friend to friend? How important is security? do you have a router?

Try this site for some info on remote access:

remote access to what? from one domain to another? from one computer to another?

What are they running? What os? What speed? What protocol's? Are they domains? If so are they trusted?

it's questions like these that need to be answered before we begin...
