Hi, as an IT consultant working within the realms of SBS2003 I work with a lot
of companies who need the capabilities of an SBS2003 network and quite often an
additional Windows 2003 server for LOB applications and file storage but who
can?t afford to or are to short sighted to employ a full time Network
Administrator. I usually get them a couple of Dell servers with DRAC 4 cards
and a compliment of OptiPlex boxes running Windows XP. What I want to do now
is set up a fully operational network in Virtual PC with a Systems
Administrators workstation and a couple of virtual laptops configured for
remote access both for demonstration and testing purposes. My host PC is a fast
Dell laptop with 2Gb of ram and a 300Gb external hard disk hosting all my
Virtual disks as fixed size drives and where necessary multiple partitions to
eek out as much performance as possible! I have set up a couple of LoopBack
NIC?s but what I can?t seem to do is configure the system properly to allow me
to simulate a remote connection to the three systems without using a real
internet connection. Can you tell me if and how I can connect SBS2003 to the
internet when a connection is available to apply updates and simulate a
connection for the demo PC?s one of which I?d like to use with Windows 98?
