Virtual Memory error with Deus Ex-please help!!

Finally got around to playing Deus Ex and after I installed the game + the D3D dll I started the game up. All was fine till I started a new game or the training mission-im booted to my desktop with an error saying that I dont have enough virtual memory on my HD and to make room for more. When this first happened I had the virtual memroy set to :Let Windows decide-I then tried a setting of 2.5X my ram(256X2.5=640)=still no dice. LKast I defragged my RAID setup-still the same error. Very frustrating-any help is appreciated. Also tried a Mem manager-Memokit-no go as well. Here are my system specs:
Athlon Tbird 1.1gig
256mb Mushkin Rev2 pc133 RAM
Win ME
Philips Accoustic Edge
DX8
Radeon VIVO 64MB DDR
Abit KT7-RAID
2 Maxtor Diamond Max 40+ 20gig drives in RAID 0(stripe) formation

 
that should definetly be enough. you may want to go lower. i had mine at 400 i think, but i only have 64 mb of ram.
