Virtual Machine for slipstreaming

Hey I'm new to the whole slipstreaming stuff so i've been using this site to help me out. I was reading up on it on the forums and a lot of you said that its crucial to use a Virtual Machine in order to find out if your slipstreamed disk works properly. What i want to know is where can i find one of these?? I looked it up on google and I got really confused. The first site (VMware) said it was to be used to link to other computers. I don't want that...i just want something that will tell me if the disk i've made will do what i want it to do (an automated OS install w/drivers and Windows configurations). Also I'm broke so i hope this stuff is free. Please respond ASAP, i got my new SATA drive and i'm dying to set it in RAID but i can't till i know that this disk works properly.

Why not just use Autostreamer? I've used it for a long time, works like a charm!

I've already used NLite to slipstream everything together. I just want to use a virtual machine to see if everything is working properly before i set up my SATA's in Raid 0 n install the OS. I think Nlite is more customizable in that you can install the hotfixes, drivers, apps, and other things while making it all fully automated.

Btw, i notice that JRE 5.0 v 11 says that it contains a Java Virtual Machine but how do i use it to test out this stuff?

Did you already take a look at Microsoft's " download Virtual PC 2007 absolutely free "?

no i didn't. I know Microsoft and Sun had some dispute with their virtual machine but the link to microsoft's VM on the JRE website was broken. Anyways, i'm downloading it tonight. will try it out tomorrow. Hopefully i can get everything done tomorrow Thanks for the help!

I feel like an idiot. There was a whole section devoted to Virtual Machines and how to use them in the website i am using. Well, if anyone finds this looking for what i was looking for, just pm me and i'll send you the website

JAVA is a completely differnent "Virtual Machine" than what you are looking for. You are looking for a "Virtual PC", like Microsoft's (formerly by Connectix) or VMware's.
