I've seen the biting ads, which oddly seem so effective to the sheeple. I'd guess these elections since Jan. might have been a repudiation of republicans, but that hasn't happened, although dems have gotten more traction in strongholds like Alabama. Is it better ads, more money, or do the republicans have better ideas? The fact that demagoguery is so natural for the tribally inclined, my guess is the former. Hate makes it easy to vote against one's own interests.

Seriously though, not sure how to feel about the closeness of this race. You would hope that the Trump backlash alone would carry Northam to a 10-point lead, but that clearly isn't the case. This is a state that Hillary won, by the way, while the midwest defected to Trump.

The complete ineffectiveness of the Republican Party has been put on center stage since they can't get anything accomplished even with Congress and the presidency, but the Dems seem pretty ineffective as well at accomplishing anything as the opposition party.

What should the minority party be accomplishing? It's not like the GOP has even been able to assemble a bill that enough of them can agree on to the point the the Dems can even filibuster.

I didnt like it, told her so, then blocked her number. She was polite except for the fact I dont think you should call someone after 8pm in a non-emergency.

What about you guys?
 
I predict yet another loss for us Democrats. Party needs to get its shit together and have everyone on board.
No releasing negative books right before an election
No being an ass-clown candidate
Get a message, keep the message simple and stay on message.
 
I dont think anyone but beltway pundits cares about the book or the pulled ad from a third party. If people were going to change their vote base on that, I doubt they were for Northam in the first place. Northam has outraised and outspent Gillespie. He has led in most none astroturf polling and is much consistently approaching 50% in more polls. I think with the heavier than expected turnout ( may rain tomorrow however), I think Northam wins by 5: 52% to 47%

I doubt it was a pollster since the election is tomorrow and they would not have time to release the polling information. More likely it was someone from the campaigns or a volunteer dialing soft/leaners or infrequent voters asking them to vote tomorrow. GOTV is where the margins of victory will occur.
