I am taking my wife to VA Beach for the w/e for our anniversary (I know not SUPER but its the best I can do at the moment). It has been 12 years since I have been there (went to school at ODU) so its a little fuzzy on where to go there.

What I am looking for is a nice restaurant to go to for dinner. Something relatively fancy(not formal) & romantic but does not have to cost me $100+ for a darn meal. Shoot me some suggestions please.

Thanks

Greg

http://www.spiritcitycruises.com/norfolk/index.html ?

Just in case they've got a tour going while you're here. Make sure to get a private table, else you're sitting with two other couples at a large table.

Castaldi's in MacArthur Center Mall (not sure of the correct spelling there)
There are a couple of marina type restaraunts that are pretty nice. Not that I can remember any of their names.

Hmmmm... This MIGHT mean I don't get out too much and when I DO it's not to nice places...

scauffiel -- I thought about the dinner cruise thing as well and that still may be a possibility, not sure yet.

If you are staying at the oceanfront you might want to check out Mahi Mahs. Great seafood at reasonable prices. It's a bit crowded during the weekends, but during the week it's great. It's located at 5th street on Atlantic Ave. directly under the Ramada. MahiMahs

If you are going out to Pungo you may want to check out Captain George's. It's one of the best seafood places in the area. (Make sure it's the pungo location and not the other one in Virginia Beach on Laskin Rd.) It has great view of the intercostal waterway and is not that crowded beacause its in Pungo. It will cost around $30 a person, which is not bad for all the food they have to offer. It's a buffet style place, but don't let that stop you from going. CaptainGeorge's

These are the first places that come to mind, but there are alot of great places to chose from if you are staying at the beach. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

I was doing some more searching and it seems that another well regarded restaurant is Blue Pete's in Pungo. Has anyone been there before?
