Walmart. Never will you find a greater hive of scum and villainy. I avoid it like the plague. I hate other people to begin with, and that place seems to attract the worst of mankind. I just go to Costco, which is like Walmart except I only need to go once a month.

you know I am really tired of all the Wal-Mart bashing and bashing the customers of Wal-Mart.

I shop at Wally World regularly, and almost everyone I see are just normal people or normal familes out to get the best bang for their hard earned buck.

Sure if I was a fool I'd pay $2.79 at Target for the exact same tube of toothpaste I can get at Wal-Mart for $1.99, but I'm not a fool and want to get the best value I can.

My Wal-Mart is clean, has big wide isles, and is generally a nice place to spend 45 minutes shopping and getting the essentials.

I've also been to a Wal-Mart in the hood in a bad part of Houston Texas, and you know what, it was fine!

Yo, Wal-Mart haters and elitists, FUCK OFF.

PS. Most "Great Value" brand food products I buy are just as good as brand name. GV Peanut Butter in fact, I like more than Jiff or Skippy

I am lucky to have TWO upscale Walmarts near me 🙂

Of course I live on the South Side of Charlotte and the entire area is upscale for the most part.

Now the town I work in 30 miles south has the typical Walmart that doubles as the town zoo late at night. Since the new one opened on my way home I avoid that one like the plague, even if it has lower prices than new fancy one.

I buy a lot at Walmart, and I save a ton of money even over what it would cost me at Costco. The one by me is clean and the isles are 2x as wide as any store I've been in. There are some suspect people in there usually, but I go to shop not to meet people. I can easily save $10 when I'm just spending $20. I guess if I was a millionaire like the average ATOTer I wouldn't care though.

can't tell if serious.

I don't live in Charlotte, but I've been there a lot on business. The Ballantyne area is pretty nice and has some good restaurants. That Hickory Tavern is good.

It must be nice to see a fresh Wal Mart, without your view being obscured by herds of morbidly obese people in sweat pants.

i see that in ALL grocery stores. wal-mart is no different except for the cheaper prices.

i just dont get the wal-mart hate. yes i shop there because they are the cheapest game in town.

i do too.. i don't see any of the issues people claim to see in theirs.

perhaps people shouldn't shop in the ghetto. all stores in the ghettos are nasty.

my wal-mart superstore is quite nice actually.

They're teh evils because they put small businesses out of business because nobody can compete with the prices. The ironic thing is a lot of people on ATOT won't shop there for that principle alone. But when they need a hard drive they don't even think about the local PC shop and buy from Newegg because it's cheaper. They also do the same for most other items they can get for cheaper from Amazon.com. I guess it's fine so long as it's Newegg or Amazon putting the small local business out of business.

The Super Walmart in Moreno Valley Ca is one of the cleanest and nicest markets I've even been in period.

bwhahahah you know, i never thought of that. its true.

i dont see that as being an issue. i honestly dont give a crap if the small mom&pop on the corner has a personal shopper walking around holding my hand.. when i go shopping... i know what i want and did all the research previously.

if you go into a store looking for a TV or a Blu-Ray or a computer, and do NO RESEARCH, and rely on a 90-year old at the local mom&pop to be up to speed... then you've already failed.

i'd sooner buy that blu-ray from Walmart for $59 than a mom&pop for $199 "because it helps the small business" ... that extra $140 don't do shit for me.

the old "ma and pop" argument lost meaning about 15 years ago when all those stores went out of business. Today it's just one big chain competing against the other.

hehe true...

all the "mom & pops" are now working as Wal-mart greeters.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MOM & POP.. SHOP WAL-MART!

Depends on where the Mart is. I've been to a Supercentre in the 'burbs, and it was pristine. An "unpoor" part of town. My usual haunt is one within walking distance, and one of the first in the city. It's nowhere near as clean as the other one, but it's still pretty nice. Lot more families that go shopping there. Ones who take their damn kids...

we all know you don't have that extra $140 though.

you guys with only chain stores locally are really painting the picture of a ghetto.

ANYWHERE there is money still has plenty of mom and pop type boutique shops where you tell them what you want and they run around to make it happen.

Meanwhile you can watch a video, read, etc.

I live in an upper midwestern town that is most definitely not the ghetto, nice area with lots of middle class folks, plenty of doctors and business people, and other than 1 co-op grocery store, there are pretty much no locally owned stores, everything is big chains.

post the details. It's like those above saying their WalMarts are upscale.

I am sure they are to them...however, much of the issue to those that have important things to do in life is that the lines at a WalMart are brain damage if you survive from getting shanked while shopping.

I even tried a in store pickup deal...fucking took them over an hour to find my box.
