i'm like 5% sure, i just recall i heard that somewhere and watching other moments in the video where people are blinking left, it seems to make sense...

It does, but you pass on the opposite side to their indication. The Viper forced his way past on the left and the BMW had to move twice.

Yeah it looked like the Porsche driver was better at getting past the slower cars.
