Yes, I would have. If you want to ever consider yourself a good driver, you don't swerve into lanes and smash into the back of stopped traffic because you're changing lanes only when you're 100 percent certian you can do it safely. If you can't do this at a high rate of speed, or you can't check your mirrors, blind spots and be prepared for a guy 10 cars up suddenly swerving into your lane so you can brake/get out of the way, then you're not a good driver.
