They are more for it than the left.
For instance, among Republicans who identify with the MAGA movement, 10.2% strongly or very strongly agreed that a civil war is coming, and 7.8% believed a war is needed—rates that are roughly double and triple, respectively, the figures for non-MAGA, non-Republicans (5.5% and 2.4%).
They are fed a steady diet of "They are coming for you".
I'm honestly a bit surprised those numbers that low.
Man I missed the mass arrests of business owners hiring undocumented workers.

In my thinking, violence emerges when dialog and compromise no longer serve and are no longer possible.
There is a dimension of insurmountable Moral Issues. When you can't compromise in the midst of a profound moral issue, dialog ends and violence begins.
Disregard for the Truth and the Propagation of Lies also motivates violence. When people see (so-called) leaders engaged in an unabashed campaign of Lies, the see the Truth being murdered. This inspires rage, and rage inspires violence.
Slavery was a profound Moral Issue in catalyzing the Civil War. Today, the issues are just as profound, but broken up. My own "Civil War" derives from my outrage for putting an habitual Criminal in the White House: I cannot imagine having a dialog with a Trump extremist because they always quickly prove that they don't know anything, or they believe some of the most ridiculous lies one can imagine.
So with no rational dialog and with no compromise, I'd just as soon send someone to the hospital for five years of reconstructive facial surgery. That's why I avoid going to sports bars lately -- to stay out of jail.

There is no dialog left with the enemy Trumpers. There is no bipartisanship that the delusional Dems love to talk about, long after it was crystal clear it was not even a thing anymore.

You can't hope for dialog and compromise with MAGA or Trump. The only entity more unable to keep their word than Putin are MAGA and Trump.
Dialog and compromise with them is a surrender!

You have to at least realize that the 20% Trump base will go the distance to Endlösung and beyond. These people have no limits and will follow dear leader where ever. That is the real stranglehold you need to address .. I guess it starts with the likes of Murdochs on the wall.
The stupidity people you refer to are really self motivated to be ignorant that we become what we hate. In this way the sufferer becomes the torturer, the robbed, the thief, the murdered the killer etc. you are what you eat in that what you obsess over, what you fear you will materialize in your like. The traumatized recreate the misery of that experience for everyone else in the world. In this way we have all become monsters and the pain we suffer but our attachment to it makes inescapable. It is so much better to suffer our own personal hell than realize we have done it all to ourselves. Better to hate life itself than feel what is really there, our utter inner emptiness.
Of course there are things you could do to make yourself feel proud to be alive like caring about yourself for a change. Hate puts bad chemicals in your blood and love makes you feel alive. Can you alter whatever habits you have learned. It seems some do. Why not you too.
