Sounds damn fine to me - thanks! Should work well in my new Kodak DC4800. Now I just need to figure out how to PAY for all this stuff...

They're selling Transcend 64mb Smartmedia for $65 shipped too. Damn cheap.

CF memory is supposed to drop dramatically in price this year... it will go lower.

I'd like to confirm compatibility with the Kodak DC4800 too. The online manual for the camera only states that the compact flash must have the "CF" logo on it.

Just purchased a Kodak 4800 so compact flash memory is a new world to me. Looked at the memory at Newegg and price has even dropped further...$58 with $5 shipping. After the usual rebate two-step (and wait), this nets out to $43 which seems pretty decent.

BUT...there seems to be a small hitch. If you check the ad, there is a blurb regarding user satisfaction. This stuff only gets 2 out of a possible 5 stars. Can anyone provide any insight on this? Is the memory slow, prone to failure, etc.

I thought CF memory was fairly generic. Basically if it could badge with "CF" it had to meet specification. Please enlighten or point me to web sites which test/review these types of products. Thanks.

From the website:

good eye amheck, but i'm pretty sure that little message was not there when i bought mine. these price drops are making me cry.

edit: took a look at the rebate form and it doesn't mention anything about retail/oem nor does it list any restrictions are part numbers. i don't see why the oem version won't work in this case.

Beware. I recieved my package from NewEgg today and it had a Kingston CF card instead of the Viking CF card. I called to find out what happened and was told that an email was sent out explaining that they were replacing the Viking card because they were out of stock. I never recieved this email I told the CS clerk, she told me I could return the card. I don't think I'll be paying any shipping if I do. So much for the rebate.:frown:

Doesn't look like the part number I received matches one of the ones on the rebate. Well...I'll send it in anyway, and hope for the best. Even if I don't get the rebate, it's still only a buck a meg.

Between software, scanner, digital camera, CF, appliances, CompUSA memory, CD-R's...I don't even know how much rebate money I'm owed!
