I don't own this particular reader but I'm going to hazard a guess and say that if you need to transfer files between the following media formats, you're probably better off with the Viking reader.

- SD/MMC
- Memory Stick
- SmartMedia

It looks like the Dazzle reader should be able to handle files transferred between CompactFlash I & II and any other media format.

These companies, for the most part, don't have anything to do with the processing of their own rebates. Not receiving a Viking rebate and then "never buying Viking again" doesn't make much sense. Your rebate was handled -- or in your case, mishandled -- by a giant rebate-processing facility that handles millions of rebates a year.

Best way to submit a rebate is go through both routes. Online sumittal and postal. I just check my Viking 6in1 reader rebate on wheresmyrebate.com and it showed as approved, waiting for check to process. If for any reason you don't get your check just call them up and request for another printout. Please keep copies of your rebate and receipt just in case they lose your info <---This happens a lot especially with Crappy Companies like Hi-Val, Digital research, I/O magic, etc...

I just order one for 49.99 - 5.00 coupon - 25 rebate = $19.99

Be careful the rebate only gives you 15 day to postmark the rebate from the receipt purchase date. I went with the super-saver free shipping anyway, last package from Amazon came almost the next day.

update- I canceled my order, Amazon was going take a week to ship!!! With the stupid 15 day postmark, I didn't want to take the chance on losing $25. I order the Dazzle from Dell for the same price with only a $10 rebate and much better rebate term and conditions. Dazzle Link
