It showed up at $24.49 when I started buying it, must have raised it right before it hit my cart. Oh well, thanks for the free CF card.

Well, this has become a classic "snooze, you lose". Not only has the price jumped to $27 but it no longer qualifies for free shipping. It comes up around $5.50 s&h.

this card got more bad than good reviews on the buy.com website.. i'm gonna hold off from buying this.. hopefully one of you can update with your experience with this card!

It was free after rebate. I got in on it after they bumped up the price but before they took off free shipping, so I'll let you know if I run into problems with it.

I use this card and I think it is fast enough for the everyday consumer. It ain't no Ultra II or Lexar Pro card, but it is way faster than SanDisk blue and if you don't have a DSLR, you will not notice a huge difference b/t the Viking and the 40x's.

The free shipping is back so that makes this deal worth jumping on. The $27 rebate is a bit of a turnoff but worth it for a free 256MB card and I have had good luck getting Viking rebates in the past.

I don't know what they are referring to. I have been using Viking CF card for over 4 years, 64's, 128's, 256's and have never experienced a single problem. If you are concerned about speed, as someone else noted, it doesn't really come into play unless you have a DSLR. The performance bottleneck in consumer digicams, almost without exception, is the camera itself, not the media.

Zero problems with my 256MB card of four years. I'm buying a second one, here, so I won't feel pressed to delete images during trips.

Make sure your select the Cheapest shipping to get it free: they default to the next level of shipping (at $5.50).
