ViewSonic VX910 $370(AR) +Tax+Free shipping+gift

First post so don't flame me too hard if I made a mistake on the post. 🙂

Go to officedepot.com -> monitors -> 19" LCDs -> find VX910

Looks like same price as bestbuy/compusa, 499 with 100 manufacturer rebates.

But then you can find coupon codes for officedepot.com, on any online coupon site. The one I chosed is from
www.consumernow.com

There's the $30 off $150 purchase + free shipping. (exp 1/31)
Then there are a few gifts coupons (stackable with the one above depending on your location though).
Some expires 1/11 so hurry.

So the total will be 499-100AR-30 = 370 +tax + possible free gifts. I got the auto kit only but maybe you're luckier.

You can go to local office depot to take a look, I did, good brightness and looks better than the Samsung 912n. You can also go to viewsonic.com to look at specification. It's 16ms response time.

Thx for reading.

Good deal. I got mind at Best Buy for 399$ after rebate, and I love it even at that price. I was worried about ghosting as I play ALOT of games, from FPS to MMORPG to RTS. Pretty much anything you can imagine. After spending a few days gaming and watching movies on this panel, I have to say I am very impressed and extremely pleased. It is sharp, color reproduction is exemplary, and there is NO ghosting whatsoever in games or movies.

I have it hooked up to the DVI of my Geforce 6800 and it looks great! IMHO no reason to buy a 2001fp for 600 when you can get this for 379

You can find the other $50 rebate from CompUSA's site.

The total on this comes out to $508 for me after taxes, then there are $100 in mail in rebates. Not a bad price, but I wish I knew how long Viewsonic took with their rebates.

Hey Johnbear007,

Did your VX910 come with a DVI end cable? The VX910 I bought only came with a VGA connector cable. Do I need to buy a DVI cable separately? And yes, this is a very nice LCD. Great picture, no ghosting, pretty damn nice.

No, mine did not, I had to buy one seperatley which is the only downside. You can get one at newegg.com for 20 shipped though

If you want DVI you need to buy another cable. It's pretty cheap on ebay, or I heard it's like $11+shipping on viewsonic site itself.

Cool, thx for the reply. I do have a VGA to DVI adapter that came with a Radeon 9800 Pro. If I use that, will it provide the same quality DVI connection to the monitor, the same as if I were using an actual DVI ended cable?

No, this will NOT provide the same quality signal. You need to get an actual DVI cable. you can get one at viewsonic.com at their store for 17.70 shipped (good deal, they are 52$ at best buy)

No it will not since you are still using the Analog signal.
There are 2 types of DVI called DVI-I and DVI-D. The DVI-I has pins for the standard VGA signal and the DVI-D has not.

I've been using analog on my lcd and have not tried DVI, is there noticeable difference ?

I started using the VGA cable but then a friend gave me his spare DVI cable so I have seen both. The nice thing about DVI is that you don't have to do any setting on the monitor (width, height, etc). It completely users the whole screen. I think the picture was clearer too. Its a great monitor for HL2 and such (its what Im currently playing on)
