I was looking at purchasing a monitor and came across the viewsonic 23" e-ips 1920x1080 monitor. I was originally looking to get a dell 22" 2209wa but would prefer the higher res for playing blurays. the dell u2410 is out of budget, as I was looking to keep the monitor roughly 400$ or less. I can't find any reviews on the viewsonic, and i don't think any of viewsonic's authorized resellers are selling it.

Provantage is selling the viewsonic for 300$, but it doesn't look like its an authorized reseller. Would it still be worth it?

Does anyone know anything about this monitor? The dell u2410 would most definitely be a better monitor, but I don't wanna shell out almost $500 :(.

not sure on that viewsonic but my daughter just picked up this samsung and has been happy with it. picked it up instore @ microcenter here in Kansas City. from what I've seen, it's a nice display and I've had really good luck with samsung displays.

That samsung looks like its a TN panel. I was kind of hoping for an IPS for the viewing angle, better color and still decent response times/input lag. I don't know if its worth the price premium though as I've never really seen an IPS panel, and have really only used some of the older lcds/crts.

would not having displayport/hdmi be a problem? i thought dvi was a pretty standard connector. I haven't used anything since the vga input era
