What I liked about the Viewsonic better than the Dell was that the screen wasn't as "textured" and it made it easier to read the text. The screen also seemed larger, but that could've been because of either the larger bezel or because the screen was dimensionally different.
As far as brightness and contrast, the VG series was plenty bright and plenty clear. I don't know what those numbers mean, but I had to crank down everything. Also, I noticed no ghosting in videos or games with it.

What video card do you use? I have a Dell 1800FP with a Radeon 9700. In Counter-Strike, I get minimal ghosting. Any other game I have played, I haven't got any ghosting.
Scrappy sure knows me. 😉 He is correct. I don't play Counter Strike, so I don't know how my 1800FP would react with the FAST FPS games. I personally can't play FPS anyway because they make me dizzy. I have NOT noticed any ghosting or streaking in any of the games or game demo's that I've looked at on this LCD. Same goes for the Viewsonic VG800. Both monitors seem to be about the same to me.I believe he is using a GF4 ti4200 at the moment..I also believe he is looking for a Radeon upgrade..on the $$cheap$$ ..
That makes sense. Kind of like using a USB mouse with a PS/2 adapter. For most use, you would not notice a difference, but it may react differently when you play a game that puts a lot of demand on the mouse. Guess I'm going to have to buy Counter Strike just to test LCD's. 😉 I'll have to have someone else play the game for me though so I don't get motion sickness. 😉I do notice a difference when using the DVI connection also, and it's not so much in the picture, but in the refresh times.
