Just for the record, I received this monitor and was pleased to discover it ran with no dead pixels. It's quite sleek and attractive to look at, the stand is perfect (it elevates and stays in position continuously, no locking mechanism), and it's the perfect size for my gaming habit and my wifes productivity needs. My son is absolutely nuts over it (RCT3 ftw!) I am now able to compare this against my NEC 1760V and only now do I realize what a crap monitor it is. The VG2230WM is bright, vivid, crisp, no ghosting, and makes any game I can get to run at its native resolution (1680+1050) to look absolutely spectacular. I'm firing up older games that I haven't seen a while like Serious Sam 2 and Painkiller and this thing just breathes new life into them. Prey, well... it rocks ;) Haven't run Oblivion yet (looking forward to hopping on it again soon), nor BF2 or BF2142 but despite their widescreen limitations I'm sure they'll look as gorgeous as the rest.

For those interested in this monitor please be aware that, as others have mentioned, this does suffer from backlight bleeding; you will notice it every once in a while. For me though, it's not a big deal as there are only certain situations where it's noticeable and even then my brain already tunes it out.

If you're interested in a 22" TN, this one shares that same panel with the rest so don't base your purchasing decision on that aspect. Just keep in mind that this display probably has the best stand out of the gamut and it looks incredibly sharp stylistically.

I'll keep an eye on this thread should question about the display come up.

With the viewsonic I had to constantly get my face closer to the screen because I couldnt see some fonts. 22" fixed that and now I can sit back and still able to see. I havent noticed any juggies in games - 1680x1050 is more then enough for 22".

he said, "juggies". huh-huh-huh-huh-huh....

the colors look great and vivid, no banding in games or movies. I have a couple a test images that are gradients of gray and I do see some banding in the darker portion. I suppose that's not so bad that I have to run a test like that just to see this monitors (and all other TN's) weakness.

I did this with my 20" and it helped some, but there are plenty of things it still doesn't help. Especially web pages that insist on using the tiny print. It also distorts some programs from displaying correctly.

I was thinking of getting a 22" just to help with this problem. I'm not sure yet though.

I haven't seen a 22" in person yet. I'm worried if the text will have the grainy look or not.
