Hi, i have a problem with the VG191 and the gigabyte GF3000D.This video card doesn't work with my Viewsonic, infact with the vga connector the image always flicker and in dvi the image was cut in two parts when i enter in Windows XP!! I change this geforce3 with another GF3000D, but nothing. This card isn't compatible with the VG191!!!.
Can anyone help me,please? Which video card, with the dvi output, is the best for this monitor? I also see some ghosting during some games (like fifa 2002), but no ghosting at all during QuakeIII, Unreal, Colin Mcrae Rally2 and Soul River 2. If i buy another dvi cable can i resolve this ghosting problem? Please, help me........

Dunno the answer but FWIW, I'm running mine on a Hercules GF2 GTS digital out and it works fine. I had to go back to the 14.50 drivers because I would loose all video (black screen) when I clicked on the device selection tab. Changing drivers fixed that.
I also noticed that it doesn't like oddball resolutions. Make sure you're running 1280x1024.

Hunter - what card are you running now? My 191 arrives tomorrow ...glad I didn't order a GF to go with it!

Does the DVI connector work in DOS? Try booting up to a DOS disk. I believe the very latest nVidia drivers have some sort of problem with DVI.

Now i have a Creative Geforce2 GTS (analog only) and the monitor is perfect. I think that my problem is the Gigabyte GEforce 3 + VG191. This video crad (not all geforce3) in particular isn't 100% compatible with VG191. In dos, with the dvi, the image looks great but when i enter in Windows XP or ME or 98 (i try all kind of Microsoft system ...) the image first go mad and then was cut in two parts before i install any kind of drivers!!!!.In vga, instead, the monitor flicker during dos and the imgae in windows flicker too.Now i want to buy another video card with dvi output, because the image, especially in windows, looks better. Anyone has try a radeon 8500 with this monitor? Is the radeon 8500 dvi output good?

I am interest in the Viewsonic VG191 myself, can you tell us some more about your experience with it?

how much and where did you get it from?
how does it scale beside the native resolution?
any ghosting watching dvd or playing game?
how about the image quality or brightness! thanks!
