ViewSonic VA1912wb Black 19" DVI 8ms Widescreen LCD $197 Shipped AR ($20) at Newegg

buy.com has it for like $1 more then use a $15 off coupon brings it to $202 and you still get the rebates... so it's like $182 after rebate 😀

Tiger has it for $169.99 after a $50 rebate, but the shipping kills it. Anyone got a free shipping code for them or any other coupons?

How is this monitor anyhow?

Tiger doesn't have any better deal than anyone else. They are including the $50 off rebate that everyone else also has in the price. So Tiger is actually selling the monitor for much more than newegg or buy.com.
The $50 rebate you can only get if you buy a desktop or laptop also. You've got to read the fine print. tiger is very sneaky about things like that and I refuse to do business with them after they screwed me over on some rebates and lied/hung up on me.
Basically if you buy the same monitor from newegg or buy.com and buy a desktop or laptop that qualifies you can get the monitor for cheaper. Even though tiger is advertising a lower price they are more expensive than everyone else.

the two rebates are as follows:
$20 off for buying the monitor - this is the rebate everyone else is advertising and it gets the price to between $195-205
$50 off for buying th emonitor and a qualified desktop or laptop - tiger is adversising this rebate for the final price even though they know that most people will not be able to use the rebate. Every place else that sells this monitor I have looked at also offers this rebate, but they don't include it in the price as an active act of deception.

moral of the story is... DO NOT TRUST TIGER DIRECT!!!

oh, and about the monitor. I've heard good things about it so I ordered one last night. I figure Viewsonics are pretty good and I'll give it a try.
