Bought a monitor a while back, sent the $100 rebate card to Viewsonic, and my refund check came in the mail today - NAKED!!!. They put my name and address in the "payee" field and the smallish check had that mass mail postage free box printed in the corner, and they mailed it!!!!
No envelope, no cover, nothing. Anybody could have taken it, sign the back and cash it - i would have never known.
These people are NUTS!!! Sending a "blank check" in open mail like a postcard.

I got a $40 rebate back from Viewsonic. Can't remember if it was in an envelope or not.

I have received several rebates that way, the Prime Peripherals ones come to mind right now but there were more. Oh yeah, my maxtor rebates came that way also. I don't care how they come as long as they come. I'm currently batting 1000. I've received every one I have mailed in for.

<<<it had your name on it, didn't it?>>>

apparently you dont live in a big city. the name on the front of a check dont mean squat to someone who wants to cash it.

Also, anyone who notices at the mailsorting depots could see i got a $100 rebate on a monitor implying an expensive system (worth stealing) at this house. I just dont like my business put in the street. The whole damn system seems to be setup to tell everyone everything about yourself. When i go to the auto parts store and buy some $9 item, they want my name and phone number for my "warranty", so i tell them keep your warranty. When i go to fry's and get something that needs to come from "the lockdown", they want your name address and phone, so i tell them its a cash money sale, then we go round and round until the guy digs out someone elses address info and sends me on my way.

Well, then you gotta love the mail banks send you. The ones that say: "Important Personal Information included".
