Due to the fact I have a paper due on Friday, any help would be appreciated, but it must be ASAP!

Recently my viewsonic GS790 (purchased appox 2 years ago, started to bounce. Not the monitor itself, but the image would shift as if it were trying to move and fill my window better. I ignored it for the most part until today.

As I type this now, I can barely see anything, as my monitor is now reduced to a small trapezoid (I have three inches of blackness on either side of the image). To make matters worse, with the exception o fthe center inch on the screen, The rest of the image has split diagonaly into Red GReen and Blue strips...

you can see why my typing is incredibly bad.

For reference
1Ghz Athlon
Leadtek GF2 GTS 32MB running latest official nvidia drivers
Viewsonic GS790 (100hz refresh rate @ 1152x864x32)
Win2k
Maxtor HD (ATA 100)
Abit KT7-Raid (Via KT133)
2x128MB PC133 CAS 2-2-2 Mushkin SDRAM DIMms
SB! Live latest official creative drivers
Plextor 16/10/40A
Asus 50X
Generic NIC
ENlight 7237 with generic 300W PS (I know I know)

if you need anymore information from me, or have a solution, please e-mail me @ mrprotagonist@myrealbox.com

I have tried refreshing the screen
changing the refresh rate
adjusting color depth
adjusting the monitor geometry via OSD
adjusting the geometry via nVidia control panel
physically unplugging and repluging my video cable
turning the monitor on and off
and physical violence to my machine

none of these methods have worked

any help is greatly appreciated.

sounds like you just need a new monitor...

I assume you've tried another monitor to be sure?

If it's the monitor that's bad, i doubt it's fixable.
