ViewSonic E771 problems

The problem is every so often the monitor will turn itself on and off real fast. Atleast that is what it looks like it is doing. The screen goes blank, green led light flashes, and the boink (on and off sound) repeats. The only way I have found to stop it is to hit the power button and turn it off for awhile (1-2 min.) Then turn it back on. This will normal keep it working for about twice the amount of time the monitor is turned off. After while one time a turn it on and it will last for hours, days, even months before doing it again. I had it do this to me years ago, but it was still under warrenty then and they replaced it without any problems. So, this is my second E771 that seems to have developed the same problem. What could cause this and how could I fix it? It is not the video card, because I have had a rendition V2100, Savage 4, and a GeForce 2 GTS now. The last time it did it and I sent it back was when I had the Savage 4 card. I run it at 1024x768x32 @ 75hz. I believe it is out of warrenty, plus it cost around $40 dollars to ship it back to them. I have the same monitor with the same problem. The first of this week it when blank for the last time, even turning it off and on after a rest didn't work. I send an e-mail to Viewsonic, they responded with a few simplistic answers. " is your monitor turn on?... is it plugged in?

I plan to contact them again shortly and be a little more firm perhaps I we coordinate our efforts will will have greater success.
