ViewSonic E771 broken?

little help?

I've had this monitor for over the 3 year warranty period. So, this is a last ditch effort to see if anyone else has had this problem - or knows whether I'm s0L.

For the past 3 years it's been hooked to various diff. vid cards...no problems. Recently however, I purchased a Belkin SOHO 4port KVM. In doing so, I incured many switches between the redHat box and the winXP box - and whatever other machine was on the bench for troublshootin' Well - I'm just wonderin' if maybe the higher amount of "on/off" or resolution switches caused this things "death."

description: the monitor began blinking a little bit - rather a flicker, not completely off...but like a little jitter...as if a cell phone were near it and beginning to ring (try that out...it's wierd...your monitor will flicker b4 your fone rings...or maybe mine was telepathic in its last days). NEwayZ...it did this flicker thingy a few times today, intermittently, then it just went to a completely black display. However, the power light (on is orange), which doubles as an indicator as to whether the PC is on (on is green when both PC and monitor are on), remained green. So, some of the guts in this thing are still good...but obviously the toob is NOT doing so hot.

I would selfdiagnose this as a blown monitor...but I just wanted to hear a few Xpert opinions on here tell me that it's broken and that I NEED to go buy a new one 🙂 (saw that 19" KDS flat in the Hotdealios section heheheheh)

I don't know if I would blame the switch.. like you said the tube might have just went out...the changing resolutions shouldn't have hurt anything, but im thinking that perhaps it's taken a few to many power spikes, maybe? That's usually what kills 'em.

Bummer dude.
