ViewSonic 19" = $255

i cannot wait for mine to come in 🙂

i was gonna buy the Rosewill 19" for the same price but they're not a household name and they have a rebate which i heard doesn't even come in! not even worth it (rebate brings the price down to 219 or something)

FRY's also have it for 299$ + free canon printer. Great monitor, but had to exchanged it twice due to dead pixels.

Dead Pixel Policy

To ensure the highest performing displays, ViewSonic sets limits as to the allowable number of pixel anomalies. ViewSonic has adopted the following pixel criteria to supplement our existing three-year limited warranty. This policy applies to all ViewSonic LCD displays during the warranty period.

ViewSonic sets limits on 14" - 15" LCD's at 4 bright sub-pixels, 4 dark sub-pixels, or a combination of 4.
ViewSonic sets limits on 17" - 19" LCD's at 7 bright sub-pixels, 7 dark sub-pixels, or a combination of 7.
ViewSonic sets limits on 20" & greater LCD's at 10 bright sub-pixels, 10 dark sub-pixels, or a combination of 10.

It is possible that any replacement display may also have some non-performing sub-pixels. This should be considered when requesting a warranty exchange.

i got my 15" Philips like 4 years ago w/ no dead pixels

i expect a LCD monitor with better technology and quality to have no dead pixels as well

This sounds like a pretty nice deal.

Any input from those that have this monitor.
How does this compare to the Dell 19 inch monitors?

ViewSonic VA902b Black 19" 8ms LCD Monitor 270 cd/m2 550:1 0.294mm Pixel Pitch - Retail

* Model #: VA902b
* Item #: N82E16824116363

On the one day sale at Newegg for $279 today.

That's a nice price on a 19" LCD.......the only problem I have with 19" LCDs is that the resolution is the same as a 17" LCD, so the 19" LCDs are just spreading out the 1280 x 1024 to fit the increased screen space. I was seriously looking at a Samsung 19" last weekend, but every brand's 19" looked quite a bit more "pixelated" in some instances vs. the same brand's 17".

Ended up with a 20.1" widescreen instead. There was a Viewsonic 19" WS that looked quite nice, too, but passed on that. Was $299 + tax, but spent another $50 for the 20.1" WS.

that's the same reason i got a 19" over a 17"

costs $50+ for some and i compared them at Frys and didn't really see a difference so why not get the bigger one

Buy.com has it for same price + Coupon will bring it down to $265 shipped, but like rox1co mentioned, it doesnt have DVI input something to keep in mind.
I upgrated from an Aging 17" Viewsonic crt to a 19" Sony SDM-HS95 (~$220 after mir) with analog only input and the pic is much better after some adjustments.

Edit: Just noticed the -$15 rebate has a new customer only tag so for those of us whom have bough from them before (like me) are out of gas on this deal.

I've had the 912B for over a year (I paid ~$525 for it in Oct 04) I love the thing. No dead pixels, thin bezel, rotates to Portrait mode and the best gaming LCD of its time. The 1280x1024 is great for these 44 yo eyes of mine.
