How can a LCD be 18" and 17.4" viewable? That's not possible. If this is 17.4" then go with Planar from Dell. You can get 15% off $699 and free shipping.

That's some false advertising there...It won't come out to 18" no matter how you measure it.

The big and beautiful VA800 from ViewSonic is the ultimate flat panel display. The 3x LCD is up to three times faster than others, making the VA800 ideal for viewing moving images. SuperClear MVA technology and a big 17.4-inch diagonal viewing size give you big, crisp, color-saturated images. This ViewPanel® is bright, with a 400:1 contrast ratio, has a 160° viewing angle, and a high 1280 x 1024 maximum resolution. Ergonomically advanced features include a pivot for selecting portrait mode or landscape mode, making the VA800 perfect for desktop publishing or viewing tall Internet pages. Two analog inputs allow the user to toggle between two computers. Wall mountable with optional wall-mount accessory. As with all ViewSonic displays, the VA800 has a three-year limited warranty and 24/7 customer support. Please allow three to five days for delivery.

I have this monitor and it is great. It is analog but it doesn't matter.
There is no ghosting and you know, after I look at it long enough, my Samsung
950p looks a bit fuzzy because the va800 is just so much sharper. 😀
The LCD is definitely easier on my eyes, too.

Also, I did an Amex price match with computerhq.com, which had it on sale for $699
a couple of days ago but it is now out of stock and they bumped the price up to $799.

Buy from outpost.com, the shipping is free, and it might be tax-free for you, too.

CDW was selling 19" Viewsonic VG191s for $782.50 shipped each a few months ago. Their prices have since gone up but I picked up 3 of them for home at the time.
