views on the coolermaster blower fan?

marketted as high cfm but nearly silent; any ppl with experience of it? would it be suitable as a heatsink fan?

I bought a Cooler Master Aero 4 lite heatsink for my P4 (478) processor, the motor for the fan is silent, but the way blower fans work, generally the air causes a louder sound. the heatsink comes with a rheostat which fits into a 3.5" bay or spare pci slot. i have the heatsink running on minimum rpm and it keeps my 2.6Ghz processor cool.

More air pressure does not mean more CFM's!

it is more effective in terms of the how air is blown, but i think it is louder.

More CFM doesn't mean better cooling as well.
Air pressure means how effectively the fan can blow air through the heatsink.
CFM just means how much air the fan can pump out.

In simple words, CFM = horsepower, Air pressure = Torque

I have the Aero 7

Its a very nice fan. Plus it doesn't have the center hot spot like other heatsinks do (although I dont think it makes a huge difference anyways). Its much better than my old arkua cooler

The sound isn't bad, very noise free......until you turn the fan speed all the way up. Then it just sounds like a vacuum

hehe I just installed one of those today, much better than the stock cooler, but I don't think its as noisy as you say it is... it seems to be keeping my cpu about 7 degrees cooler than stock fan at a higher overclock... I was only able to get to 191 fsb before @ 53 degrees celsius, now I am at 200 fsb @ 45.5 degrees celsius.

I don't know if my mainboard is reading high, but I installed an Aero7+ and the best temperature I could get with it under load was 62 degrees celcius!!! and my CPU is at stock speed and voltage.. also 2 case fans!

was trying to make a quiet system... that failed... I put my old HHC-001 back in (not with the delta fan though) and temps went back down a few degrees, still in the mid-upper 50's though and it really irks me how it reads high like this... it can't actually be that hot.

grr...

I'd probably be able to give a better review of the Aero7+ but I can't accurately say how well it cools. I may try it in another PC. I hope my readouts here are just high.

The hub effect makes a huge difference considering that it forms a dead zone right on top of the CPU. I got around it by using a 92-to-80mm adapter and a twin-bladed fan.
