I have my desktop resolution set to 1024x768, the same as I set it in all games, but when I adjust the settings on my monitor to see my desktop full screen (fill in the screen for no black edges) then when I go into games the viewable sixe is small, it has huge black borders. Well when I adjust the game to make it fullscreen then when I get out of the game the desktop is huge and I can't see the taskbar, ect. How do I set it up so I don't have to keep adjusting the monitor each time I play a game?

Hi

Your monitor's refresh rate is changing when you go into a game. Most monitors physical picture size changes when the refresh rate changes, and this might be whats causing your dicomfort! You should try to make your refresh rate the same both in Win and in the game. Try adjusting the refresh rate of the monitor for games from either your display adapter property pages (some card drivers have a "override default refresh rate" option in their settings.) or from "directx advanced page (dxdiag.exe).

Hope this helps!

I tried telling the video card to override the refresh rates in programs (by default, it was set to "Apllications conrtol refresh rates" and then I click apply, then I try going into the game and my problem still exists. I then go back to where i set the override refresh rates in the video card and it defaulted itself back to "Applications control refresh rates". It just won't apply the override.
