what exactly are you trying to get as an answer? It's probably pretty easy as far as languages go, at least compared to like chinese or japanese...

Haha, he taught you bad viet grammer. Your "nieu" is like a lot. So you said, you pretty a lot, or you a lot of pretty.

And em diep is basically you are pretty. THe lam makes it you're very pretty.

Why do you want to learn it anyway? Its useless, unless you're in an asian community. Don't even need to learn it if you're dating a viet girl, cuzz when her mama started calling you "mi chan," while scowling at you, you can tell they don't like you.

I'm vietnamese and speak it fluently. Like the others in the thread have said learn something else, vietnamese has very limited usage in the US.

If you do decided to learn vietnamese I hope you can nail the accent otherwise vietnamese speakers won't be able to comprehend you at all, at least in my experience.

hahaha...don't know why in the world anyone would want to learn vietnamese. even if you ever do, most older people won't even understand you and probably think your an idiot. i was born here, i went to vietnamese sunday school for half my life, i can read and write, and most vietnamese adults i talk to can hardly understand me, my accent is too clean. if you ever hear 'real' vietnamese it sounds like people are cussing at each other.

Cool. My ex tried to learn Vietnamese. Too bad I didn't want a future with her!

I'm learning German right now b/c my gf's family is German.
