Vietcong PC game from Thailand

What is the deal with the Vietcong PC games coming from Thailand that are being offered on Ebay? There is a ton of them out there. According to the descriptions, they are new-in-box, with unused CD keys, etc. The games are supposedly in English, however, the manuals and boxes are in Thai. The prices are about half of the US retail price. Does anyone have any experience with these games?

my roomate bought a battlefield 1942 from thailand for 25 shipped, it works fine. you just dont get the box or manual methinks.

anyone know if they are just taking advantage of the local price difference, or is it piracy?

I bought the Mature rated version from GoGamer.com

The M version has cursing and lots of blood. For instance when in battle your guy or guys will blurt out "Die you fu**in gooks!!" "Die you f****ng zippa heads!" And the training levels are fun. The drill sargent in the Vietcong resembles the drill sargent in Full Medal Jacket.

For instance in the game "You god damn fu***ng idiots! Don't make me come down there and skull fu** you idiots." Or.. "Where's my gun? I'll come down there and put a bullet in your f****ng head."

I think I heard that he does do the voices for the game but I havent played it so I dunno for sure.

You're talking about Lee Ermey, and he does do the voices for a RTS called Real War, don't know about any others.

It's great. I've been playing the demo for months. I'm ready to upgrade to the full version, though.

Since nobody has definitely good experiences with the Thai games, I just bought the M rated version on gogamer.com. That should be fun. Anyone playing VC or the demo on-line: I'm }NBK{Marksman.
